I personally never liked the way Trolls or Smufs looked. I've always thought they were kind of ugly, so I never cared to purchase one..."evil" or not. Different strokes for different folks......

Troll dolls and Smurfs - oh my!
by Jim_TX inhow many here have in their possession troll dolls or smurf dolls?.
i am not sure about the rest of the world, but here in the states - these were considered 'demonistic' (oooohhhh!
), and were pretty much forbidden in the toyboxes of children.. since i have left, i have acquired a few for myself - one sits on the refrigerator - with a magnet - another on a shelf around here ... somewhere (he seems to walk around on his own *grin*).. sooooo... how about you?.

Bisous,
Dave said : "I was only trying to be nice when everyone from Portland was in bed having sex and ignoring your posts"
Obviously I'm not!! Welcome to the board! I don't post much but I do know a few from Portland myself. I live in Beaverton, and I live fairly close to Onacruse and Dave (Seven006). I met with the folks last night at Barley Mill Pub for a beer and had a very nice time. Maybe you might want to meet up with us one of these days.
Pay no mind to "Mr Grumpy" (Dave). I could tell you from experience...you can't take anything Dave says too seriously. He has some serious brain damage and mental problems and we just try to give him some room. Rambling on is very good therapy for him. He uses women to difuse some anxiety left behind form his younger days when he was a very good Jovie. He's actually very kind hearted deep, deep, very deep inside. Plus he's become very angry since I took his popcorn away......

How Do You View Men , Women and Children??
by minimus inafter reading blondie's wt.
review, we can't help but see how the society and much of society in general views women and men.
women are supposed to be subservient and in subjection to males.

Should I have said something?
by Beans ingrowing up i was discriminated for being german and italian not only that my ears grew before i did and was also called dumbo.
so combine that with square head, nazi and wop and being made fun of for being a jw getting in fights as a kid was very frequent.. so now you can pretty much call me anything you want and i really just don't care, got used to it and it just rolls off me.
so last week i am at a small birthday party and this guy was making some coments about germans and calling his boss "a crusty old kraut" among other things.

My own personal feeling is that any kind of racial slur or sexual preference, no matter where you are from, is uncalled for. I see it as a form of demeaning somebody else and making yourself feel above them. I hear racist comments once in a while, but I don't look for it. If I do hear it I just realize the person I heard it from just doesn't know any better...can't help the way they were raised. It has become their way of thinking...but I still don't think it's right. I wouldn't say anything to them because I don't believe it would make a big difference in changing the way they think. They are just ignorant, IMO.
My son has "big ears", and he does get teased at school, but he has a great way of just letting it roll off. I worry about those comments hurting his self esteem. I still like to remind him of each of our uniqueness. I tell my children that people are like cookies...we come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. I'm Mexican by decent and my kids are bi-racial......their father is caucasian. It's very important to me to help them appreciate diversity.

New User Hi Everyone
by jonnydangerous inkinda new to the forums, stumbled across this discussion board whilst researching the wt involvement with the un as an ngo, laughed my head off when i found out they got booted cuz everyone gave em a bad rap (serv's em right) http://www.aimoo.com/forum/postview.cfm?id=311102&categoryid=3459&threadid=1131916&highlight_key=y&keyword1=ngo.
anyway, been a "baptized" jw since 13 at the cow palace (now 20).... been a "questioning" jw since a few months after my "baptism".... still hang around the jw's... heck i was brought up as one from a tot and all of my good friends are jw's... even my girlfriend is a jw..... sigh... i've told her my stance... i'm way more liberal when it comes to religion and spirituality than i was taught to be, and bless the creator, she still loves me.
but anyway i'm at a continuing crossroads, as far as staying or leaving.... i shan't be in this state of mind for much longer but i'm just trying to get good reasons to pack the bags.... if anyone has some "meat" for me to sink my teeth into pass it my way.. haha, wow i'm spilling my guts and no one even knows me yet lol.

Where were you at 33 years of age?
by DanTheMan ini've managed to survive 33 years (and a couple of weeks).
what a long strange trip it's been.. in spite of some tell-tale signs of aging (wrinkles around eyes, gray hair, mystified and sometimes terrified by the current youth culture) in some ways i still feel like a little kid who doesn't know anything.
what have you learned since then?
-
Lost Diamond
The year I turned 33 was a big turning point for me. That's the year I divorced my JW husband, and turned my back on the whole JW mind controlling grip and took control of my own life. That was my year of independance!
That was four years ago, and I feel like a new person since then. I have a better job, happier lifestyle, I could focus on my children more, and I have learned much more about life in general. I feel very empowered now.

I Put a Curse on my Ex-fiance
by Nosferatu inlast night, me and my current fiance decided to go out and do some singing at a karaoke bar.
we've both run into my ex-fiance a few times, but i hadn't seen her there in a while.
i figured she finally got fired from the salisbury house close to there.. anyway, we get out of my truck and head toward the door.

Nosferatu,
You come across as if you have some ill feelings toward her, hurt, or at least some internalized anger (e.i. calling her a bitch). Do you think this is true? Why are you happy that you "put a curse on your ex-fiance"? You may feel quite a bit of relief next time you see her if you can just release that resentment towards her. Let it go. No need to put a curse on anybody, really. You would feel a lot better and would move forward so much easier and with much more gratification if you could let go of that hurt. I'm speaking from my own experience, and I am making no judgment call on you....just trying to help :)
Take care,
LD
